$25 gift- A week of public transportation for one of Vennmedia's students-Vennmedia provides transportation to our students, which they can use to get to and from our trainings and to job interviews, from the day they start the Vennmedia Job Readiness program to the day they start their permanent job. $20 covers the cost for Vennmedia to provide a weekly bus pass to one student.
$50 gift-An interview ready suit for Vennmedia student-Each student entering into job search at Vennmedia Job Readiness program receives an interview ready suit with which to "dress for success". These clothes are the first of many steps in building our students self esteem and helping them to build hope for their future.
$250 gift-Vision or dental check-up and support for one Vennmedia student-The program works with volunteers and dentist and optometrists to provide our students with access to critical vision or dental check ups. However, many of our students need new glasses or more extensive dental work completed (including dental restorations after years of drug abuse or poor health), and $100 allows the Vennmedia program to off-set the costs a student may otherwise have incurred to purchase glasses or dental needs.
$500 gift-Matched savings for one employed student-Vennmedia helps students focus on the future by teaching financial literacy, and translating that education into real accumulation of wealth over time. All Vennmedia students are offered $50 to open a savings account upon job placement, and up to $1000 in matched savings over the course of the following year, so long as the graduate continues to make deposits of at least $20 each month into that account.
$1000 gift-One week of Leadership Training-This innovative four-week training is designed to encourage students to overcome their fears and discover their inner leadership potential. Topics include forgiveness, conflict resolution, team building, the importance of community, and much more.
$5000 gift-Five weeks of Career Development Training-We don't shield students from realities they will face in the workplace; rather we recreate the workplace at Vennmedia. We deploy an experiential training approach that reaches beyond what we teach in the classroom and extends into the very fabric of every students experience with us. We give them a manager, a work team and responsibility. We make them accountable to the Vennmedia community at large. Through this training, we enhance our understanding of a student's capacity to perform in a variety of industries, and we leverage this information to best sell our students' skillsets as we pursue open positions for them in the private sector.
